Short-term housing and support for DCFS youth between placements
The Support Center provides short-term housing and services to youth in the custody of the Department of Children and Families Services.
Youth in care referred and admitted to the SC have been removed from their families of origin, been discharged from hospitals, or when a foster home is no longer an option.
Support Center Services
- Room and board
- Milieu management oversight
- Integrated medical (primary care), behavioral and mental health care
- Recreational opportunities
- Help for DCFS caseworkers in the coordination of educational services, visitation, and referrals.
