Esta era, <em>en todos los sentidos<\/em>, una comunidad din\u00e1mica y comprometida.<\/p>\n\n<p>Cuando su primera generaci\u00f3n de j\u00f3venes alcanz\u00f3 la mayor\u00eda de edad a mediados y finales de los a\u00f1os 60, los adultos m\u00e1s progresistas de Park Forest comprendieron que los retos de la \u00e9poca (y de los a\u00f1os venideros) s\u00f3lo pod\u00edan afrontarse con la colaboraci\u00f3n y el di\u00e1logo abierto. Entonces, la Comisi\u00f3n de la Juventud tuvo la idea de contratar algo llamado trabajador juvenil de la aldea. El Pueblo se dio el gusto. Finalmente, se les ocurri\u00f3 abrir un centro de acogida y llamarlo Aunt Martha&#8217;s.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">No forma parte del \u00absistema\u00bb<\/h2>\n\n<p>Sus or\u00edgenes y su imagen como fuente de ayuda fuera del \u00absistema\u00bb dieron a Aunt Martha&#8217;s una credibilidad instant\u00e1nea entre los grupos marginados. Sin embargo, sobre todo en los primeros a\u00f1os, fue la capacidad de la agencia para conseguir apoyo a nivel local lo que aceler\u00f3 el crecimiento de Aunt Martha.<\/p>\n\n<p>Un centro de acogida, servicios de cuidado de crianza, servicios de atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica, recreaci\u00f3n al aire libre, capacitaci\u00f3n laboral, grupos LGBTQ. Todo confidencial. Todos los programas se nutren continuamente de las voces de las personas y las comunidades a las que est\u00e1n destinados.
