Residential Shelter
Overview:
Aunt Martha’s operates two programs that provide Residential Shelter Services, each of which houses wards of the Department of Children and Family Services at different points in their progression through the State’s child welfare system.
The Children’s Reception Center (CRC) is the coordinating body for the seven specialty shelters which make up Cook County’s specialized shelter system. The CRC was established as the central intake point for wards in Cook County, many entering the child welfare system for the first time.
The children receiving services at the Children’s Reception Center range from age 0 – 21, and may be referred by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, local police, the juvenile justice system or other child welfare agencies.
Our Lake House Shelter houses youth from age 8 – 18 who are referred by the DCFS Northern Region office.
