Aunt Martha’s Plans Health Center in Joliet
Aunt Martha’s has provided its child welfare, juvenile justice and community capacity building services in Will County for more than 25 years. The organization’s effort to increase access to services in one of the County’s neediest communities is currently on hold, however, pending a decision on its request for $6 million in stimulus funding to provide health care services to the medically underserved population living on the East Side of Joliet.
If approved, the request will enable Aunt Martha’s to build a state-of-the-art community health and education facility on the campus of Silver Cross Hospital. The Hospital has agreed to donate the land on which the facility would be built, as well as provide funds to support the delivery of services in the first years of operation.
