Providing comprehensive, accessible health services to children in the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services.

Healthworks of Cook County is a health care system operated by Aunt Martha’s – Chrysalis Joint Venture to ensure coordinated, comprehensive, quality health care for children who are in the care and custody of the Department of Children and Family Services.  Using a community-based approach, Healthworks is designed to improve the health status of children who are wards of the State of Illinois living in Cook County.  Healthworks of Cook County also provides health related training for caseworkers, physicians and foster parents.

Services

Healthworks has a network of 400 physicians throughout Cook County providing:

  • Initial health screenings within 24 hours of a child’s entry into the Department of Children and
    Family Services custody
  • Comprehensive health evaluations within 21 days of temporary custody for children
  • Primary care physician for each child
  • Regular well-child examinations and immunizations
  • Access to specialized health care
  • Health Passport documenting all health needs and services
