NHBW Gold Star Gala

Aunt Martha's Youth Participation (YP) Program, which provides opportunities for young people age 13-19 to develop leadership skills by planning and performing services in their community, has been chosen to receive the 2011 Gold Star Award from the
National Hook-Up of Black Women (NHBW), Joliet Chapter
. The award will be presented at the group's annual Gold Star Gala, which will be held on Saturday, November 26th.
According to Renay Tucker, the program's Coordinator, the NHBW-Joliet Chapter was impressed by the leadership qualities exhibited by YP’s members.
"What really got their attention is that YP is run by youth, for youth and the willingness of these young people to give back to their community," Tucker said.
